A Photo Tour Of Our School
Professional Domestic Institute

Because of our low student-teacher ratio, students receive a lot of individual attention from our experienced staff and instructors. Our intense course of study ranges from eight to eleven weeks in duration. Here, two students are getting ready to serve up "Italian Night" to dining guests at the Institute.
.

Our cookbook library has almost 500 volumes plus many wonderful magazine publications. Plan on putting on a couple of pounds while attending.....At our school you will always have the best in supplies, equipment and home accessories to enhance your learning experience.

This is just a small corner of our 40' English Country Living Room which allows us to receive and entertain our guests in gracious style and comfort. Here, and in other parts of the home, you will learn the PDI System for Cleaning & Caring For A Home Of Quality....cleaning schedules, how to care for different types of furniture, artwork, Oriental rugs and fine accessories. But... most importantly, how to meet your "employer's expectations"!

Imagine if you will, creating formal dinners and serving them in our Old World dining room, which has a cathedral ceiling and fireplace. Here you will have over 12 different sets of china, 40+ tablecloths, and hundreds of accessories to select from that will help to create the atmosphere of your choosing. If your employer wants breakfast in bed, a picnic on their boat, a romantic dinner for two, or a party for 100 or more......you will be prepared! You will also learn the many different styles of serving techniques.

You will learn to care for antique furniture, as well as such brands as Henredon, Baker, Sherrill, and Bernhardt. Our master bedroom suite is fit for a "queen", especially when sleeping on hand-ironed designer sheets! Pampering skills and resourcefulness are some of the things that we stress during your training.

Not only will you learn how to properly iron shirts and linens... you will also learn how to care for very expensive linens, while practicing on such brands as Porthault, Braun, Pratesi, and many others. You will learn about French and Irish damask, shadow embroidery and exquisite handmade linens. The linen closets that you will care for, will look as if they stepped out of a catalog....picture perfect. Your education will prove very valuable to your employer and will be very beneficial in your own personal life.
